This, that and the other thingy.

I rented a couple movies last night: Semi-Pro and Mama’s Boy. I’ve been looking forward to Semi-Pro for months… and I was extremely disappointed. It just wasn’t that funny. The only times I ever laughed was when Will Arnett opened his mouth. (I’m pretty sure he could say “double cheeseburger” and I would find it funny, so that’s not saying much, I suppose.) As for Mama’s Boy, it was the better film of the two. John Heder looks kinda hot as an emo. The charming Anna Faris was pretty good. I sometimes forget that this funny female can actually act. Also, it would appear that Jeff Daniels has gotten fat. Whatevs. The movie had a wicked soundtrack- lots of The Smiths and Morrissey, which I love- but then when I looked up the official movie soundtrack online… nothing by The Smiths or Morrissey! What the hell!!
Turns out a secret about myself has gotten around to more people than I expected. It just resurfaced through a friend of mine. This friend already knew about this secret and clarified the actual story. But it doesn’t matter. I’m just disappointed in a couple young women who found my secret so funny, and felt it needed to be shared. It was immature and insensitive of them to do that.
I’m enjoying 30 Rock these days. I “acquired” about half of the episodes from season 1 and am making my way through them. At first, I wasn’t impressed at all. But Tina Fey is so cool. She shows that girls really can be geeky and still wicked cool. I love that. Alec Baldwin is surprisingly funny. But the character who makes me laugh the most is Kenneth (played by Jack McBrayer). It would appear that McBrayer can only play one kind of character- but he plays it so well! I adore him.
Well, I have one more shift before my four-day stretch is done. I actually fell asleep at work today. Ugh, not good. I blame my dog though. It thundered and she was freaking out for a few hours during the night. Besides, it was a really slow shift and it was just warm enough in the store to make me sleepy. Thankfully, the phone rang and woke me up… and gave me a mini-heart attack… but anyway. I guess I’ll likely have a job at the store next summer if I want it. (I probably won’t want to go to work as soon as I’m done school, but it may be a case of need, rather than want.)
I’m almost done working on a new little website. I wanted a place to put my videos, wallpapers I’ve made, poetry I’ve written, etc. I’ll post a link fairly soon.
